Marline Williams

Groovy, sweet-yet-swoony Christian romance

Meet Marline

There’s plenty of trouble and turmoil in the real world, so I offer readers a wholesome, heartfelt escape with a happily-ever-after.

My upbeat, offbeat, faith-soaked romances are set in the swingin’ ’60s and funkadelic ’70s (with occasion trips to the nifty ’50s). These sweet-yet-swoony stories go deep, but not dark. All the feels without the freakouts.

These are the kind of books you don’t want to end because you’ve fallen in love with the authentic, imperfect characters and enjoyed every minute of their journey.

In a former life (no, not the Pharaoh’s daughter kind of past life), I was an advertising copywriter/editor, which, when you think about it, is perfect training for crafting fiction. When not writing, I’m usually thinking about writing and consequently burning dinner.

Don’t miss Marline’s latest books!

All Men Are Liars: Book 1

It’s 1973 and freshman “dateless” Dana Whitman’s get-a-guy strategy means fitting in at her stuffy Christian college. This fake-out requires squelching her Jesus freaky ways and swapping her funky bell-bottoms for conservative threads. Falling for the devilishly handsome campus wolf was definitely not part of the plan. When temptation feels like true love, will Dana betray her newfound faith or her free-spirited heart?

BIG NEWS! All Men Are Liars has just been awarded a Christlit Book Award for 2025.

The Jesus Revolution Romance series immerses readers in the 1970’s Jesus Movement, when fiery young believers set out to change their world for Christ and in the process discover nothing ignites passion like a revolution.

To thine own self be true. Yeah, right.

Street-preaching in Hyde Park, singing Godspell’s greatest hits at the Royal Albert Hall, performing at Jesus People music festivals—Dana’s finally met her tribe! It’s spring 1974 and Dana arrives in swingin’ London wearing her heart on her sleeve and Roland Schowalter’s ring on her finger. A ring that seems dangerously close to slipping off each time she matches wits with droll, dashing Oxford atheist Cyril Hawthorne, self-proclaimed pirate king of the wild Shakespeare troupe she’s joined for the semester.

Her long-distance romance with all-American Roland feels fuzzy and far-away, their small-town future increasingly unappealing. Rumors about Roland’s loyalty—and doubts about her own—force a freaked-out Dana to do some of her most convincing acting off-stage. But her summertime return to the States will make everything okay again. Right? How can Dana be true to herself and the man she’s promised to love?
